We share common interests - even internationally.

The German Tunnelling Commetee, or DAUB for short, was founded in 1972 as a central and independent national committee for underground construction.

30 proven experts, equally elected from authorities and public clients, science and planning as well as from the construction industry, work in working groups to deal with all aspects of underground infrastructure and implement overriding goals.

Safety and technical progress in underground construction are the focus and our strength. We support decision-makers in technical, planning, legal and public issues concerning underground construction. As part of the International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association (ITA), the DAUB also makes an important contribution to the exchange of experience and intensive cooperation on an international level.

The goals are listed in the statutes:

The DAUB has the task to promote and develop underground construction and to deal with all related questions, especially

  • Coordination of work in the field of underground construction
  • Collection and dissemination of technical information on underground construction
  • stimulation, selection and evaluation of research and development work
  • Demand forecast and collection of planning data on future planned underground structures
  • Cooperation in the preparation of laws, standards, guidelines, safety regulations, etc.
  • Promotion of engineering education in the field of underground construction
  • Participation in international works dealing with underground construction.
