Guide to safety and health at underground construction sites

The DAUB working group  "Revision of the D-A-CH guide for the planning and implementation of a safety and health protection concept at underground construction sites" has compiled and published the "Guide to Safety and Health Protection at Underground Construction Sites".

Work at underground construction sites is associated with a wide range of hazards. As a result of the increased accident and health risks, specific safety and health requirements must be met.

This guide applies to the planning and implementation of worker safety and health measures for all types of underground construction sites.

For other types of construction such as immersed tunnels, caissons, open cut, etc., as well as rehabilitation, this guide shall be applied when hazards are comparable to those of underground construction sites.

All DAUB recommendations (divided into the subsections contract, excavation, support, occupational safety and withdrawn) can be found in the download area.
