BIM Model Requirements, Part 4: Model based service specifications

(currently available in german only)

The DAUB recommendation "Digital Design, Construction and Operation of Underground Structures - BIM in Underground Construction", published in May 2019, was created with the objective of providing a basic understanding of the application of BIM in underground construction. Based on this recommendation, the publication of the Model Requirements Part 1 followed one year later, which deals with the basic understanding of the model structure with uniform designations for objects typical for tunnel construction and associated object information.

As part 4 of the series of recommendations, this document deals with the procedure for creating a service specification with the use of a model, as it has grown out of the preliminary phases of the project.

After an overview of the current initial situation in the three D-A-CH countries, the relevant application cases in the course of the tendering process are discussed. This is followed by explanations of the methodology of a model-based LV creation as well as the fields of action for further developments. In the last chapter, an outlook on later points of contact in the execution phase is given. Furthermore, the possible effects that different contract models can have on the processes of model-based service specifications are discussed.

It can be assumed that this recommendation will be successively adapted to the further development of practical experience and requirements in the coming years.

All DAUB recommendations (divided into the subsections BIM, Contract, Excavation, Support, Health and Safety and Withdrawn) can be found in the download area.

The new recommendation has been assigned to the subsection "BIM (Building information modeling)".
