BIM Model Requirements, Part 5: Allowance of tolerances and superelevation

(currently available in german only)

The DAUB recommendation "Digital Design, Construction and Operation of Underground Structures - BIM in Underground Mining" published in May 2019 was created with the objective of providing a basic understanding of the application of BIM in underground mining. Based on this recommendation, the publication of the Model Requirements Part 1 followed one year later, which contains the basic understanding of the model structure with uniform designations for typical tunnel construction objects and associated object information. is the content of this document.

As part 5 of the series of recommendations, the present document deals with the basic handling or the consideration of allowed tolerances and superelevation in a 3D planning.

After an overview of the current situation in the three D-A-CH countries, the relevant use cases in the course of modeling are discussed. the relevant use cases in the course of modeling. This is followed by explanations of requirements for the model and the recommendations for implementation. In the last chapter an outlook on later points of contact in the implementation phase is given.

It can be assumed that this recommendation will be successively adapted over the next few years to reflect evolving practical experience and requirements. practical experience and requirements.

All DAUB recommendations (divided into the subsections BIM, Contract, Excavation, Support, Health and Safety and Withdrawn) can be found in the download area.

The new recommendation has been assigned to the subsection "BIM (Building information modeling)".
