This series has been published by STUVA and DAUB (German Tunnelling Committee) as a state-of-the-art documentation on construction and operation of tunnels in Germany.

All relevant prior conditions for modern tunnel construction and operation are introduced by well known experts in separate papers, among others:

• Planning, Design and Approval Procedure
• Research and Development in Tunnelling
• Industrial Safety and Health Protection
• Statistics, Analysis and Outlook

The books are accompanied by an extensive documentation on built tunnels in Germany (metro tunnels, railway tunnels, road tunnels, utility tunnels, caverns). Some international examples with german participation are also included.

So far 4 items has been published in the series (1995, 2000, 2005, 2010). The series has been discontinued and will be replaced by a online databese (under construction).
